Re-Order Paragraph Format

  • Left-click on a box to select it, hold the left mouse button down, and drag it to the desired location.

How Is It Scored?

To improve your performance in the Re-Order Paragraph part of the PTE Reading test, Keep Mind These Scoring Factor –


  • 1 Score: Each pair of correct adjacent textboxes
  • 0 Score: Minimum score

Always Remember

  • At times you will be confused between different paragraphs. In that case, you should put each paragraph in position one by one and see how it affects the order of other paragraphs and the meaning of the text.
  • Once you have arranged all paragraphs in the right order, make sure you read them again. Sometimes in subsequent reading, you will feel that a paragraph can be moved in another place. Do it and see how it impacts the meaning of the whole text.

  • Rapidly scan text boxes for main ideas
  • Identify the central idea often at the beginning

Seek Independent Sentences

  • Search for sentences that can stand alone without context
  • Independent sentences often serve as the start of paragraphs

Note Noun-Pronoun Links

  • Note noun-pronoun relationships, as they indicate logical sequences
  • If a sentence introduces a noun and the next uses a pronoun referring to it, they likely belong together
  • Use words like “however” as cues for sequencing.

Maintain Idea Flow

  • Ensure sentences build on the topic sentence.
  • Adjust for better coherence after ordering.
  • Focus on logical sentence pairs for sequencing.
